Emerald Gymnastics Club continues to grow as a developing gymnastics hub in Soweto, creating opportunities for young athletes to build confidence, discipline, strength, and resilience through the sport of gymnastics. The club offers rhythmic and aerobic gymnastics programs focused on developing children both physically and mentally while creating a positive and supportive environment for growth. Gymnastics is more than just movement and routines — it teaches balance, coordination, teamwork, commitment, and self belief, helping children develop important life skills both on and off the competition floor.
The club recently celebrated a major milestone as many of its gymnasts attended their very first official competition at the St Mary’s Competition held on 9 May. For many of the girls, this was their first experience competing in front of judges and supporters, making the moment both exciting and emotional. Emerald Gymnastics Club is incredibly proud of every gymnast for their courage, determination, and hard work leading up to the competition. The event marked an important step forward not only for the athletes, but also for the growth of the club itself.
