South African Human Rights Commission in partnership with the Mordecai Ndlovu Foundation hosted a successful community outreach program in Msholozi, Mpumalanga on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
The event took place at KGCCI and attracted a strong turnout from local community members. The programme focused on promoting human rights awareness and gender equality, key issues affecting communities across South Africa.
Representatives from the Commission for Gender Equality participated in discussions aimed at educating residents about their rights and the importance of protecting vulnerable groups within society.
A highlight of the event was the introduction of GRIP (Rape and Intervention Project), a new non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting women and men who are victims of abuse. The organisation offers counselling, skills development, and guidance to help survivors rebuild their lives and regain independence.
The event was further honoured by the presence of Miss Mpumalanga Finalist 2026/27, Lethuxolo Mathebula, whose attendance added inspiration and excitement to the gathering.
Hosted by Pastor Mashaba at KGCCI, the programme brought together representatives from several organisations including the Human Rights Commission, the Commission for Gender Equality, GRIP, and KGCCI.
Gugu Tshuma, Coordinator of the Mordecai Ndlovu Foundation, expressed appreciation for the collaboration and community support.
“We are committed to empowering communities and promoting human rights. We thank the South African Human Rights Commission, CGE, GRIP, and KGCCI for their support and collaboration,” she said.
The outreach forms part of the ongoing efforts by the South African Human Rights Commission to engage communities directly and strengthen awareness of human rights across the country.
