The Minister of CoGTA, Mr. Velenkosini Hlabisa, and the Minister of Finance, Mr. Enoch Godongwana, had a significant meeting about the contracts of Community Work Programme (CWP) participants. Minister Hlabisa emphasized the need to protect the program’s integrity and ensure participants receive necessary support.
The meeting concluded that contracts for CWP participants aged fifty-five and older will be extended until March 2025 while looking for sustainable solutions. He mentioned ongoing consultations and promised to keep stakeholders informed on their progress regarding this matter.
