In a country grappling with alarmingly high youth unemployment rates, Project Revitalized is offering a ray of hope. On 18 March 2025, Matshidiso Masita, the Project Manager of Project Revitalized, will represent the initiative at the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI) event in Sandton, Johannesburg. This high-level gathering serves as a pivotal platform to reflect on past achievements, refine strategies, and forge partnerships aimed at enhancing youth employment and economic inclusion in South Africa.
A Critical Moment for Youth Employment
Launched in 2020, the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI) has played a pivotal role in reducing youth unemployment. Yet, with youth unemployment still at a staggering 45.5%, and marginalized groups—especially persons with disabilities—facing even higher rates, the need for innovative and collaborative solutions remains urgent. This event will bring together key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector leaders, civil society organizations, academia, and youth representatives, all committed to driving the next phase of intervention strategies.
